I like this paper better because they select only what they want to publish.

Please give this a try yourself. I know someone who ran a local paper for very many years. He said he was always motivated to publish input from community members simply because of the reaction folks like us have to seeing the publication. It is good for circulation.
Cold contact the editor of your local newspaper and ask if they accept submitted photos. When you have something of local interest they are more than likely to publish. Local newspapers are doing their best to survive and they are actually doing better than the national or greater regional/State-wide papers. The folks want local news and input from community members. Such papers are the only source for such information. Give this a whirl people! You might be pleasantly surprised.
