I called to see if I included my receipt in the package because I found a copy on the table and wasn't sure if I made 2 or forgot to pack one. Anyway, she said the camera arrived at 10AM Monday, but would not be processed for 3-4 days. She said until then she couldn't help me. She wouldn't even give me an e-mail address or a fax # to send it to now, just in case.
Anyway, I said..."'what do you mean 3-4 days, they promised me Friday that this would be a 'rush job' and I would either have my camera or a loaner by the end of the month."
She got really nasty and said that they would have never said that. There is no such thing as a 'rush' and they would never offer a loaner to someone like me. I told her to check the notes because they were going to make an exception because of my circumstances and she refused to do so. I asked for a supervisor and she said no, there was not a single one in according to her. She wouldn't even speak to the man I spoke to on Friday. She told me there was a 'procedure' and there was no way they would make an exception.
I ended up hanging up in tears.

Well, I did call back after I calmed down. I got a much more cooperative woman. She said she was embarrassed by the way the first lady treated me. She gave me the fax # and e-mail address I requested. She also said the rush info and loaner info are right in the notes and the first lady didn't even bother to read that far down. Shortly thereafter, I received an e-mail with and a service order #!!! The first lady said that the box would not even be opened or a service order # issued for the 3-4 days, and w/o that # she could not help me at all!
I really thanked the second lady and feel much better.
Hopefully, she will make this happen! Lil, thank you for that info, I will hold onto it. You continually amaze me...how do you know so much about everything!!;)

She even reset my password so I could send the receipt as an attachment that would link right up to my service order. It is amazing what the right person will do. I just wish I had the nasty ladies name!

Erin- sorry to be reading this. :( When it is all over, I would send an email to the PRESIDENT of the company. You know the day, and time you called, that might be enough. Sounds like some snip who was having a bad day, or just lives like that. Just think, she has to live with herself. :paper:

Good morning everyone. I just got off the phone with Nikon, yes...I actually got to speak to someone...and the lady said they are working on it now.
She put a request in that I have it here by the 30th. She said it wouldn't be a problem...we'll see. ;)

Erin as promised the 20D, a 28-135 lens, one battery, one charger and a 2gig memory card were put in the mail via priority mail this morning. You should have the box no later then the 30th. The battery is not in the camera and probably needs to be charged, the memory card is inside the camera.

Max, I can not thank you enough! You have no idea what this means to me, or maybe you do. This is a once in a lifetime event (hopefully).
Nick called last night. He was bumped from his flight from Iraq, so he is still there. Hopefully he'll get out tonight, then to Kuwait, then to the USA somewhere, then to Scranton/Wilkes-barre, then HOME!!!
The plan is to leave for the Outer Banks Friday, Nick, me the kids and Comet!!:dog:
The good thing is his leave doesn't officially start until he hits US soil so we'll get the full 2 weeks either way. As long as he is here in time for the trip, I'll be happy!!!:)

You may as well open it and play with it. If you do need it you would be advised to know all the controls. Plus you might want to charge the battery.

Ed, they didn't say what was wrong. I'm dying to know too, I'll try to call and ask, but that is easier said than done. I think the worst part about dealing with Nikon was trying to get someone to answer the call. The call would be picked up, then you had to do the automated bs, but then nobody would pick up...I bet I was on hold about 15 hours just waiting for someone to actually take the call, and all I have is a cell phone:mad:.
I'm just thankful I got the camera. :)

We've tried everything Lil. Tech support can't help. As far as they're concerned, I'm on my own.
Windows is all updated, no change. We did all their trouble shooting steps, nothing. I unloaded it and reloaded, nothing.
Looks like it is just junk at this point. Everything works except editing, which is the only part I ever used. :mad:

Lil, Thank you very much, the forums info was awesome. It turned out to be the Twain plug-in file was preventing the editor from working. Put a tilde in front of it ("~") and the plug-in won't load. That did it. By the way this is Nick writing to you. Thanks for everything!! Erin figured it out and I did the change. She's very happy right now, and I'm very sore.

You guys are not going to believe this....my computer bit the dust...yes the new Sony Viao I just bought. I just bought it last Saturday and it has been crashing all the time, then tonight I tried to play a blue ray movie, it didn't work. They tested it at Best Buy and said yes it is messed up, but they didn't know for sure why and they didn't have another one, or anything close to having everything that one had, so I got all of my money back.
So back to the drawing board! Any suggestions on where I can find a good computer for around $1400 to $1500???
I've been thinking maybe a refurbished Mac, but know nothing about them!

iPhoto is one thing and PSE is an entirely different other. You will want PSE. I use iPhoto for storage and organization of photo files.
