My wife bought me this book for Elements 6.0 and I love it.

Elements 6.0 - Andrews (http://www.amazon.com/Adobe-Photoshop-Elements-Introduction-Photography/dp/0240520998/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1214070110&sr=1-3)

Here is a book on CS3 by the same author and publisher. You might see if you can find it and thumb through it.

CS3 Essential Skills- Andrews (http://www.amazon.com/Photoshop-CS3-Essential-Skills-Photography/dp/0240520645/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1214070110&sr=1-2)
