leaving the day after tomorrow for a +/- 4.000 mile bike trip
when looking at the route i'll be taking i'm pretty sure i'll return with plenty of pictures ...
the setting :
leaving Belgium - Würzburg Germany - having a few beers in Bavaria Germany - do some yodeling in the Austrian Alps - 1 week cruising (34 passes) the Italian Dolomites - entering France - French maritime Alps - relaxing in the French Provence - getting some tan in sunny Ardeche region France - eating too much foie gras in Dordogne region France - (might ride up to Bordeaux to have a good Medoc) - (very slowly) crossing cheese land Auvergne France - have some lovely bubbly in Champagne region France - home to look at the pictures

might post some of them in +/- 3.5 weeks time

hi all

for various reasons this bike trip was a semi-disappointment ; 50% bad weather, backpack got stolen, iPod was in backpack, camera broke down for a while, lost a lot of pics due to sd-card went belly up, a planned meeting got cancelled last-minute,...

but the good things were : 50% good weather, only clothes/shoes were stolen (including my dirty laundry :)), spectacular views, racing in the mountains and met some fine people along my way

all together some 4.500 kms so less than originally planned because of bad weather
some pics already in the gallery and some more to come later (some of them taken with a friend's cam)

it's not the quantity nor quality of pics i had in mind but better some then nothing at all

cheers

Hey I'm glad yor trip wasn't half bad. I just cant picture someone having enough courage to steal something off of a bike. I am constantly warned to bring in my helmet, gloves and shades but I never do. I guess until someone does it to me....

Well, semi-disappointment means that is was not a total loss and I'm glad for that!
