Or if you just want a quick way to throw some stuff on to DVD.
Ulead DVD MovieFactory is cheap and very easy to use.

I did know nada, but... (Here we go.. ANOTHER MIKEP STORY).... One year I really lucked out and got a gig working the tech for a play. Very sweet gig. You get a full pay check, but once the play has opened, you generally only work 4 hours a night and still have time to hit the clubs when you are done. The play had 8 video screens around the theater and a giant screen at the front. The idea was that the actors had guardian angels (played by themselves dressed with wings etc) and they would be talking to each other throughout the play. It was quite a technical challenge to get all the cues and so on.

So we are about to open in a couple of days, and the video editor can only work 9-5 because his wife just had a baby. I was upset since we were not going to finish editing everything in time for opening night.

So he gave me the keys to the editing suite and said to lock up when I was done. For a couple of days and nights I was in there leaning A-B editing real fast! And this was back in the days of 3/4" tape.

It was actually very fun.

Later on in with my medical company we would have full production teams flying around the world to cover procedures and events.

I like Premier but it doesn't support the AVCHD format of my video camera. I recently bought Pinnacle Studio Deluxe and find it much easier to manage and it DOES support AVCHD.

You already have it. It's Windows Movie Maker. Look around on your computer.

I downloaded the Ulead DVD MovieMaker. I feel like a 300 pound gorilla with a 10 pound sledge trying to play the piano.

Im not really good with programing and complex computer apps. What i know Ive asked about ( 10 times) and hacked my way through. If you have ever seen one of my videos, for instance on the old vrodforums site, it was made with the Moviemaker ( upgraded to moviemaker2) that comes with XP.

After playing with everything it had, I found some brainiacs at movie maker forums.com who write their own code for spec. effects and transitions and show you how to make an XML? file and how to add their stuff into your "stock" MM2 program. Now I have so many xtras it can be frustrating looking for that perfect effect. Now I have fun mixing effects to get more effects ( like the flaming fonts)

and now I film with a particular effect that I will be using in mind.

My camera? the elite....the top of the line.....the highly sought after....Sony Handycam DCR-HC38  he he he he poor boys have poor ways.
