Black and white is one of your strengths. Very nice.
There is something grounded about black and white.

Thanks but I'm telling you it's not ME...I shoot in color ;O)
It is the "Gorman-Holbert" black and white conversion that makes them so good. :O)
Read about it here. http://www.blackandwhitedigital.com/index.html

You talked about that before. I know because I read it. It was when I posted the boat houses at night and tude suggested it would be good in black and white.
You make the photograph. Then work it. I'm sure you cannot make junk look good.

I love the contrast of the different shapes and textures, the b&w really brings them out.

I too am a big fan of black and white, but find I never convert the color pics over. From time to time I will desaturate a pic and leave a brightly colored part for a selective color.

The reason I shoot in color and convert to black and white after the fact is here:

It explains it a whole lot better than I can. I use that site for reference alot.

Very indepth discussion. I didn't realize that to purchase the latest Photoshop software was $180, never looked before.

Lil, look at the Photoshop Elements, its less costly. The CS4 is for pros, but I didn't compare the software functionality side by side. The price I quoted was for Elements. Do you use the CS4 yourself?

I use Elements now. It is relatively powerful, but also limited. Somethings are much easier and more powerful in regular PS.

I have CS3. But before that I had elements 5.0. The only reason I have CS3 is cause I got it cheap, and I really got into the HDR stuff.
CS4 was already out for a while when I got CS3. One more thing.....Has anyone tried Corel Paint shop Pro? I got a $40 coupon for it, but I have never used it.

I used it at work, loaded it up on a laptop at home, but did not like it. I like Elements much better.
That being said, I do know people at work who love Paint Shop Pro.

What was it about PSP that you didn't like?

It might just be that PSE seemed more intuitive for me.

I gotcha. I know the PSP screenshots look nice...but a nice looking window doesnt make a nice looking photo I guess.

Listen, I'm the odd one at work. They don't like photoshop. They think it is a Mac thing and most are PC users.
