Just a few items for discussion.

Do your lens have it?
Do you use it more often than not?
Are there situations where you consider it a must?
Are there situations where you simply would not use it?
Please share any of your photography pearls regarding autofocus.

+1 what Tude said...except its with a Nikon.

Many times I will use AF-lock though. To have the ease of AF but with a bit more creativeness allowed.

5 Like most computer controlled devices the auto focus can usually out perform a human. The only time I find the need to focus manually is when there is a large amount of foreground in the way of my main subject. For example a bird behind some branches or a row of flowers where I want to focus on a different flower than the camera does. The D90 has auto focus built in to the camera body as does my lens for a wider choice of options when it comes to lenses.

All hail the auto focus!!!
