I have a couple from my Blackberry from last night's Patriot Guard Ride. We got to welcome home 130 Marines Iraq and escort them back to their base. I gotta admit, I got a little choked up during the ride. What a feeling. I will see if I can get them up here.

Here is a pic from my new Blackberry Storm. The image itself is straight out of the phone. The only PP I did on it was the frame around it. Not a bad pic for a phone on a cloudy day. This is my friend George's bike. Some of you may know him as Dawgie from the VRF.

Thanks! We did a ride for a 22 year old that was killed by an IED in Iraq after only 8 days there. It is so much a rollercoaster ride....pride/anger/sadness...Seen some big old bikers cry. Glad I could be a part of it, but sad that I had to be a part of it. Was very happy last night was a good ride welcoming live soldiers home. The thank yous from the crowd, the handshales from the soldiers, it was incredible.

So far we've only been to funerals. I would love to do a Welcome Home ride.
My husband deployed 2 months ago and the PGR did a send-off ride for them, but I didn't even know about it. I do not get all the e-mails of the local rides.
I get lots for Arlington, NY, NJ, Maryland...but not PA.:(

Thanks all. That 87 is still my favorite, this is a shot of what it looked like after the last time it was ridden before I bought it. The only thing we salvaged was the frame and the motor block, took me about 2 1/2 years to scrounge up the parts to put it back on the road.

Well, those who know me, know my husband Nick deployed a couple of months ago. Yesterday he actually boarded a plane for Iraq, and today he should be arriving there.
Needless to say it has been a tough couple of days.
I decided to take a little ride today even though it never warmed up like 'they' said it would.
Of course I had my camera with me so I stopped to take a few pics (Nick made me promise to send him lots of them).
Maybe it is just me, but these shots seem to relay the way I felt. There was just no color to be found, and although the sun was kind-of out, it couldn't be felt or seen.

Erin...so I gotta beg to differ. LOL! I see colors! Lots of silver and black. Any day you can get that bike out and ride should be at least a little something to take your mind off things. Even if only for a few brief moments.
I can only hope that the great people here can help lift your spirits while he is away. If nothing else, we can teach you some new things about that camera of yours. Ask questions. I am sure I speak for most here when I say we love to share tips and techniques with others interested in listening.

No I wasn't running a flash on that trip. I had just got a new lens and wanted to see how it would do with available light. The lens is a Tamron 28-75 f/2.8
and the camera was my Canon 20D set at ISO 1600 and I was running in program mode to see how the camera would handle it, that and I didn't have a clue as to were to go with the settings. The camera was coming up with an f stop of around f/5-f/5.6 and a shutter speed of around 1/50th of a sec. Other then correcting the WB and a bit of sharpening thats all I did to them.

Lil, there are other settings, but I haven't really had the time to play with them too much. I didn't know if it was worth investing too much time with it as it is such an inexpensive camera. I really just bought it for Daytona and spur of the moment shots, kids, sports, rides etc., so I have not played with it too much. I'm not trying to sound like a snob :p I just really bought this for quick shots, not thinking of it as a 'real' camera, then got the pic bug from you.
See now you're making me go find the manual and see what it can do! :D
I did take the bike pic yesterday in 3 settings...just to see the difference...
this one, the one I posted above was in "color enhance"

and this is "automatic"
http://www.moviephotoforums.com/photopost/data/500/medium/ride_deploy_day_028.JPG
there are also fine, superfine, kids, macro, night.... settings. I think there are lots more that I have not even found yet. I know you can play with the iso, but I don't even know what that is...yet :D

This is an old shot, but It fits. I rode my bike to TN for my sisters wedding in March, my brother met me(and my wife) at the cabin. The ride was a bit cold so the discoloration you see on the electraglide bag lids and seat is some really heavy frost.
Team green is my brother's bike

Nothing spectacular here, It was taken with a cheapie PnS Kodak, but the ice and the contrast of the 2 different styles were cool.

One of my early HDRs, and an absolute BEAST of a motorcycle I had before the Electraglide.
2002 ZRX1200R....118HP to the rear wheel and an all day wheelie monster!!
10.70 1/4 mile bone stock.....I really do miss it.
I embarrassed many fully-faired sportbikes with my "old-looking" machine.
