The geese you see are my adopted kids so they're comfortable when I lay down, near them, with a 17-40 lens. I wanted to get as low as possible to view surroundings from their perspective. There is a low dam at the edge of the pond that serves perfectly. I can crouch very low here and actually take the shot from ground level. The lens was set at 40mm. Distance to the geese is only a few feet and you can see how unconcerned they are. It's fun to try something totally different. Some times it works and other times it doesn't.

Since I've never posted anything in the 'theme' gallery before I chose this one for my initiation.

Joe, I REALLY like this. I was just telling Lil I need something wider than I have. Fisheye doesn't do a thing for me, but I need something. The perspective on this is of course perfect. I need to check my options with Nikon. :):bookworthy:thumbsup

I love it Joe! The bird's eye perspective worked very well.
Look at that foreground! The wide angle up close to both the stones on the right and the flowing water on the left worked wonderfully.

Thanks J.R. Nikon has a couple of super VR wide angle zooms. Not cheap but superb glass.
