Time lapse

I really want to do a time lapse. My current DV camvera does not have the feature. I know some camers can be set up to take short images at interval.

I am looking for a software that will take regular video and clip images out of it at interval so I don't have to replace my camera.

Any ideas?

I'm pretty sure you can do that with Pinnacle Studio or Adobe Premiere.
