Hey, anyone still shoot film? I know dig cams are all that and a bit more, but I still feel more comfortable with film. I bought into the dig cam in a cheap sort of way early into the development cycle and have pretty much stayed on the low end ever since so I probably don't know all that is available.
But I didn't like AF when it came out either. I was used to setting my speed or f-stop, framing, zoom/focus, center the needle and shoot. If it wasnt a moving target I would usually take two more shots, one over exposed and one under exposed via aperature.
Finally, there was nothing cooler than picking up new pictures from the lab. Kinda like having to wait for home made cookies. :D

Mike, I went to a local camera shop to ask about having an old olympus cleaned and checked out. They owner, who has a strong reputation among the press corp here, did not want to bother. Suddenly I felt a bit archaic for caring.

Wow, that is hard to believe. I know our local drug store and Costco still do bang-up business on photo developing.

I'm used to a local guy who will process as I ask. Down on Long Island that was easy. Here, nope.

I think you might find out they will be VERY underexposed by now...
If you think there is anything on them you might want, do it now.
I actually processed a roll of film I found in a bag and had no idea what was on them. I knew it must have been pretty old, and was actually excited to see what was there.
Big let down... It was a bunch of municipal politicians I shot for the newspaper about 18 years ago. They still had an image, but it was very washed out.
I was hoping it was some shots from a wild party back when I had the loft or something like that. Oh well.

The fellow I used to work with when I lived down on Long Island would process mixing the chemicals to accommodate for the age. Whoever you have do it, make sure they know the age.
