Thank you gentlemen.
I've attempted to capture this barn in all four seasons and will tell you that so far a moderately dense overcast with some breakthrough sun is the only one that does not wash out what color is left in this old working building. It is very pale and dull in contrast as it stands. As you see it here is how it looks.
Ed, my eye is drawn, in a bit of a romantic way to such structures. In this case I see it being built. Each stone fit. Each board hewn and affixed by hand. I think of the cost and what it must have meant to those who constructed and used it. The thoughts behind the dated roof. The spectacle it must have been when finally finished. The people and their lives. What stories would tell if it only could.
Thank you gentlemen.

I made many photographs yesterday as my old friend, the best barn in the world was being razed.
This photograph shows the inside of the barn and the hand work that was done way back in the early 1800's to build it.
This rare view only reinforces the meaning of the barn to me.
