How I made this image
http://www.moviephotoforums.com/photopost/data/574/Merged_Beauty.jpg
1. Open all the images you want to merge
http://www.moviephotoforums.com/photopost/data/574/Merge_1.jpg
2. Click on File-New-Photomerge Panorama
http://www.moviephotoforums.com/photopost/data/574/medium/Merge_2.jpg
3. Click on Add Open Files
http://www.moviephotoforums.com/photopost/data/574/medium/Merge_3.jpg
4. Click on Interactive Layout
http://www.moviephotoforums.com/photopost/data/574/medium/Merge_4.jpg
5. Arrange the photos as you like and click Ok.
(So that you do not wonder why there is one small duck image here, know that I mistakenly opened a small version.)
6. Once completed and the merged image opened I used the line tool to overlay the middle outlines.
7. Increasing the image canvas size is one easy way to add border lines around the entire merged image outside.
Using the Stroke (Outline) Selection under Edit will also work easily.

Here's another way using Adobe Bridge. Haven't tried to see if it works as advertised though.

It works!!! I took nine random images in a 3 X 3 format and saved as a pdf and then saved it as a jpg file to upload it here.

Vanessa, wonder if this would work with 25, 3" photos??
One thing to add to this, from what I read, if it will be printed, would want to up the DPI to 250/300-- FYI :)

Vanessa, GREAT!! my end result would require a bit of processing to get rid of the labels and have no spaces between photos. :)

You can easily get rid of the labels by clicking that off in the menu but I couldn't figure out how to get rid of the spaces between photos.

That is the reason for using the photomerge feature in PSE. You have spaces only if you desire them.
In the merged photo above I made small spaces using the line tool found in the shape feature.

If you do not want the lines, simply do not add them.

To add a border using the Stroke (Outline) Selection feature you first need to make your image a layer.
Do so by double clicking the small version of the image on the right side of the screen to see the dialogue box you can see in this image. Layer 0 will show up in that box and you can name it something else or leave it that way. It is up to you.
http://www.moviephotoforums.com/photopost/data/574/medium/Merge_6.jpg
Now that it is a layer, click Edit up on top of the PSE screen to get the drop down menu shown in this image and click on Stroke (Outline) Selection
http://www.moviephotoforums.com/photopost/data/574/medium/Merge_7.jpg
You will see the dialogue box in this image. In it you can change the number of pixels for the width of the border. I chose 40.
Click on the color to chose the color you desire.
Click Inside for Location and leave Blending at Normal, Opacity at 100% and leave Preserve Transparency unchecked.

Click Ok and you will have a border on your image like this

Lil you are the bomb diggity:thumbsup
Went to try with mine right fast and Elements 8 locked up giving me a bad resource code with a lot of gobbly gook:confused:
Tried twice and had to force quit the program grrrh
Maybe can do with CS5?

Odd Mike. I use PSE 8 myself.
Cynthia's computer died awhile back and I stripped the 15" mac I had and gave it to her...
I wanted a bigger screen since I was used to the 17" and bought another Mac.
I am guessing when I tethered the two to transfer all my files something may have gotten lost in the shuffle or CS5 is causing me issues with Elements...
Reinstall??

If that is what happened, then I would reinstall.
PS
You'll have to tell us how things went with that Wacom device.
I am looking at that pen tablet right now (in the truck Raleigh NC) and it occurred to me I have touched it once since my last visit..
It got put away with the camera gear for a while...sigh
Initial impression is it is not very intuitive but I need to give it another chance.

Since you purchased yours I've know two people to go that way and both say it is now collecting dust somewhere.
Funny though
People that master then swear they couldn't do without them...hmmph
Must be on the payroll I am sure.

I hear you on that. I love it when they declare such. It makes things easier.
I could see myself picking up a dust collector from someone someday. The entire idea is intriguing as all get out.
Watch craigslist after Christmas probably be able to pick one up for pennies:p

I like that Craigslist thing! My old iPhone got sucked up as if with a Dyson and the 70 - 300 went nicely as well.
