I have the 18-55mm lens and feel the need for me. As I must be judicious regarding funds, what lens do you recommend as a must have?

How Judicious Li'l?
What range?
My 1st two lens purchases were the 28-135 IS Soft lens but handy for walk around and 1st fav the 70-300 IS which was a dynamite lens..
Sharp and awesome for candid shots (round $550-600 best I remember).
Guess it depends on what you want to shoot most as I bought a Sigma 10-22 Ultrawide and have found so many fun uses for that lens great for city/landscapes and fun to aim at people:D
Is your 18-55 the new IS kit lens?
Cyn got a copy with the XSI and it is a fantastic lens..

Well, I don't want to spend too much because we are changing over the kitchen cabinets right now. My goal is to get the biggest bang for my buck. I want something with a reasonable "zoom-like" capacity and macro as well. The 18-55mm is not IS and as you can see I'm stretching my capabilities with it by not shooting with a tripod.

How about the new 55-250 Canon?
It has IS and is very affordable
Not necessarily a macro lens but have seen some nice macros from it..
