The geese, gulls and pigeons are still here enjoying the lakeside on this cool and cloudy overcast day. Some of the gulls look like they are feeling the cold just a bit.

Those are great shots Lil. Your really using your opportunities well!
As a teenager I used to be a clammer. Out on the boat all day gets lonely so I would feed the cracked clams I would occasionally get to a seagull or two who would sometimes hangout the rest of the day with me.
I know very little about birds but the seagulls and sparrows are the only birds that I see throughout the icy winter.

Thanks Mike.
It is something how social gulls can be, isn't it? I miss the sandy brown gulls from Long Island. Their name escapes me right now. Sanderlings were always fun to see at the shore in winter too.

This is your best series Imho:D

(Love the Ansel sig as well)

Mike, thank you very much.
In high school I built a black and white darkroom in the basement. It was natural to learn about Ansel Adams and he became a hero of a sort.
Jim,
Thank you. Your wonderful photos make me miss my old film SLR lens.

Lil, those were taken a couple of weeks ago with my Canon A720 digital.this other pic was taken from the same place a little later, the next stop from where the pic was taken is the USA its a place called Hartland Quay on the Cornish coast and is famous for its shipwreckers they used to lure the ships onto the rocks by lighting beacons to fool the captains of the ships into thinking they were in a different area.there are literally hundreds of wrecks around there.

Very nice Jim. As you can see I could not get in close enough and clear as you did.
I'm thinking that the A720 is a good little carry around.

i have been really impressed with the quality and sharpness of the photos this camera takes and i tried a few before settling for it,another thing i like about it is its size its small enough to take on the bike but not so small that the controls are too fiddly to use.the pictures i have been posting have been reduced down to desktop size for ease off posting.bye the way we have very cheeky seagulls here in the Uk so its not too hard to get close they frequently snatch food from peoples hands, and can be a bit of a nuisance at our seaside resorts.

Well, I do feel a bit better. Ours were not in the mood to stay too close. They were in motion the entire time.
As you may remember a family member is looking for a PAS and I'll pass your experiences with yours along.
