J. R., I would imagine that there is a setting in Aperture preferences which determines how much space should be allowed for the library. Having no experience whatsoever with the program I could be wildly wrong.

Having just Googled your message, I find it is a challenge within Aperture. How s your hard drive, meaning what type space do you have left on it? Apparently their have been problems just like you are experiencing. If I were you, then I would call Apple support.

Lil, sad to say, this is not the answer. I did look there first- not to be found. I knew this was coming. I will order a new harddrive this afternoon. :)

Lil, well, it will have something like 6 times more room than the old one, plus be a bit faster. In addition, while I have a 2TB Ex HD for my time machine as a back - up, I think I will get another just for Aperture. Am making a week-long trip down the Blue Ridge Parkway the end of October, and spend a week in the Smokies, hoping to capture some Fall Foilage. :)

Lil, THAT-- looks interesting. I only have a 4 wire fire wire and that is an 6, you can get a cable that goes from 6 4 to 6, and I havd to to read my CF reader. I have an extra cable if you need one. I think I have 22 bucks in it. - Brand new, never been use. I have NO IDEA why I bought two. :)

Thanks J. R. There is a young man at our Apple store who knows this stuff so very well. Others tried to sell me a new iMac with a 2TB hard drive, but this fellow said, that I'd fill it up too fast. The Drobo was his idea. Funny is that it is not much more than a decent 2 TB external. If I make the deal, then I may come your way for the cable. I have to check the cable chest to see what is there. Thanks for the offer.

Well, the new HD was installed with no problems and ALL seems to be working just fine. New Egg has 1TB 3.5 drives on sale, but I will wait until the 2 TB's go up. It will be awhile before I get the external case anyway, Waiting for CS5 to hit the front door. :)
