I was just in NYC for the PDN PhotoPlus Expo last week. It was a total droolfest!! A good friend got us a press pass, so we got to go in and play early. I didn't pay much attention to canon, but since I shoot Nikon I was all over their booth. The new D90 also shoots HD video. And they let you take their lenses and put them on your camera. What a day!!!

I had the chance to quickly shoot a few pics with the D90 this weekend, and it was AMAZING! Felt like a giant leap forward compared to my D40!

The digital age is exploding and I think the consumer is going to see some great new camera's but at a price.

I see that this camera now shows to be available. Can't wait until one hits the shelf at frys for me to try it out.

Anyone interested in a 6 month old 40D that might be for sale? :)

Have had mine for a while now but with weather we've had around here all Ive really been able to do play around with it some other then that I did shoot two sets of family pic's with it. Shooting those types of group pic's doesn't really let the camera show its high points. But from I have been shoot I am still amazed at the high ISO shots I can get with this camera, of course I comparing it to my 20D which I know isn't state of the art but is still a darn good camera. I got home after work to night and was sitting at the table looked out the window and saw a squirrel (Sorry Lil no Duck's) and just had to take some pic's. All the shots were taken with my Sigma 50-500 at 500mm
The first one at ISO 3200 before cropping

same as above but cropped ISO 3200

This next shot is at ISO 6400

Some pretty crappy pic's I know but I'm hoping to get some were this weekend to try and get some better one's.

I'm learning from you JB that there is much more to the digital camera business than I know. I better start saving pennies.

It is fine that there are no ducks, but you should know that squirrels have me reaching for the pellet gun. ;)

Been thinking about the Bigma myself but decided to wait a little longer and get the white 100-400 f/4..
I have the 70-200 f/4 and it is probably my most used (love that lens).
How do you like the Tammy 28-75 f/2.8?

I cannot read these threads. I'll go broke. Have you taken the 70-300 out again yet Mike?

When I was first looking for a lens in this range a buddy of mine gave me his 24-70L to try and after having had it for about a week all I could think was that yep this thing is every thing everybody says it is and I'm going to have to get one. Well I started looking up every thing I could find on the 24-70L to see if there was anything to watch out for, well it seemed like as I was finding things about the Canon I was also finding a lot about the Tamron and it seemed to compare very well with the L for a lot less money. Then when I saw that Amazon had it for well under $400 I figured Id give it a try and if it didn't do the job Id E-Bay it and get the L, I got it last year and had it on my 20D and now have it on the 5D MkII and have to say I'm keeping it, the picture quality is great. Its not built as heavy duty as the L but then I'm not try to make a living with it day in & day out. But then it also has a 6 year warranty and should cover any thing I need.
