Hi all, I am Vanessa and live in Maryland, near DC with 5 parrots and 2 cats. I was invited here by Lil through Nat Geographic My Shot. I have been taking photos since I was a teenager and got my first digital camera (Olympus 2 mpixels) in 2000 and have been hooked ever since. I now have a Canon 30D and use either a 17-85 IS lens or 100mm macro (both Canon lenses).

Vanessa, so good to see you here. Welcome! I think you will find it a very friendly little community. One of our members likens it to a photography club. We have something in common, I too have been making photographs since being a teenager.
