Hi Max,

I just found out that my internet provider stopped providing me with free anti virus and spyware software. So I signed up for six dollars a month for the security suite.

Now I dont know if it's related but I cannot copy an image location of pics here on the site since I started my security software. Do you think I can do something about that?

Second thing is can one get a free reliable anti virus/spyware program?

I have used Webroot spysweeper for the last few years. Rose got a few viruses on her Dell a few months ago, and while talking to the Dell Tech Support guys, they said they only use Super Anti-Spyware. It is free as long as you only use it for personal use and seems to work very well.

ps....anyone who buys a Dell should buy it thru or pretend you are a business. Because she bought it with a company and not on her own as a private citizen, we got very intelligent techs with above average (maybe even over the top) customer service and even more important English speaking american citizens!!! well worth the extra money for the support package and I can not explain how grateful I am that I did not have to spend the same 4 plus hours on the phone with someone in India.

check Avast Home version (http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html) Ed, it's free but you have to go through a registration process to get your free (1 year valid) key, have been using it for +2 years, troublefree

Hey Dirk, Thanks for the tip! So far so good with the Avast software.
good to read there Ed, personally i never had any problems with it and it performs very good (ps for most spyware screening/removal/blocking there's Lavasoft's free AdAware // and for a good cleaner there's CCleaner (http://www.ccleaner.com/), also free)

i bought a second pc (Vista) some months ago and got persuaded (damn those IT guys at work) to buy the BullGuard package, annual fee but its simplicity - unlike the 'classic' suites - is amazingly good but nowadays it's all about NOD32 ... excellent reviews i'm being told by those same IT-guys :D
