If you ever end up going to Corning it is a must to see a few glass blowing shows at the Glass Works. In my opinion they are much more exciting than the museum or at least tied for 1st with the ancient glass specimens that are about 4000 years old. The master glass workers are truly impressive and it is incredibly fun to see a piece of art made right in front of you. These pictures were taken in very dark ambient light, through thick heat shielding glass with the on board flash of the camera, but can give you a sense of what it was like. I’d go back to see more shows any time.

I have watched the demonstration several times. It's worth the price of admission and amazes me what can be done with glass by hand, no machines involved.

You raise a very good point and to tell you the truth that thought is what bowled me over about glass that is nearly 4000 years old.
