Hotshoe level

Does anyone use one? They are interesting to me since my tripod head does not have a spirit level. The tripod itself does.

I have heard the criticism that the hotshoe was never built to be precisely level on the camera so any deviation there can be a problem.

Lil~ I guess I am just not good enough. I have never used one, although they are on a couple tripods. I just think they are a gimmick. After 30 years + in the building trade, and having made a bit of furniture, where levels ARE required, I have developed a fairly good eye. Again, that is just me. If they DO help some folks, by all means use them. :) I see them on ballheads as well? I just cannot figure THAT one out either. Maybe I am missing something. :)
